Project Assistant, Island Policy Lab

Ha Wonseok is currently a graduate student pursuing a Master’s degree in Energy and Environmental Policy at the University of Delaware. He holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy from Seoul National University, earned in 2018, where his research was centered around enhancing public perception and acceptance of energy policies through the implementation of “Deliberative Polling.” He is also accumulated substantial professional experience within the South Korean Government, serving as Deputy Director in the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. His tenure in public service spanned various critical divisions, including Regulatory Reform and Legal Affairs, Electricity Markets, and International Trade, where he was instrumental in managing and formulating a wide array of policies pivotal to the energy sector. These policies ranged from Energy Pricing and Utility Regulation to Energy Finance. Currently, his research interests lie in the area of International Energy Cooperation with a focus on addressing Climate Change challenges, specifically examining the strategic role of the South Korean Government in global energy dynamics.
