UNIVERSITY CONSORTIUM OF SMALL ISLAND STATES
Starting 2021, the IPL is proposed to serve as the global Secretariat of the UN Universities Consortium of Small Island States (UCSIS). The mission of the UCSIS is to enhance graduate educational institutions in small island states by facilitating research and development of the capacity needed to implement the SAMOA Pathway, the UN Sustainable Development Goals among other multilateral agreements.
The consortium represents several partner institutions with interests in building national research and training capacities to address island-related challenges. Partners include: University of Mauritius, University of West Indies, University of Malta, University of South Pacific and University of Virgin Islands.
