As part of our ongoing outreach efforts to Downes Elementary School, EWB-UD RSO was present at the parent-teacher open house this Monday to discuss out outreach efforts.Through the Downes Safe Routes to School committee, we are encouraging local children to walk or bike to school though publicity and engineering. At this event, our primary focus was educating the community about the proposed infrastructure improvements to Cashio Mill Road we have been working on for the past year with a number of partners, and receiving public comment. Especially notable at this event is the debut of the implementation options poster board, and the first iteration of the Downes Classroom Activity Award made by EWB-UD students.
