BRANDYWINE VALLEY QUILTERS GUILD 2020 GRANTS
Purpose: To support education or training in textile, sewing, quilting, fiber, or fabric arts and/or technology or related areas. Grants are intended to aid teachers or instructors in public or non-profit schools, institutions, or organizations with the expenses associated with teaching/ training, such as supplies, equipment or other educational materials.
Grant Awards: Awards may be up to $1,000.
Deadline: May 1, 2020
Applicant Requirements: Applicants must be teachers, instructors or representatives of a public or non-profit school, institution or organization that operates in New Castle County DE or Delaware/ Chester County PA.
Applications: Applicants must submit a brief application letter to bvqscholarships@yahoo.com. The letter must include:
- Name of applicant or representative and position/affiliation and the name of the school, institution, or organization. Non-profits should include 501(c)3 status.
- Contact information including postal and email addresses and phone number(s).
- Description of current activities related to fabric, sewing, or related arts. Attachments may include photographs or website address where activities can be viewed.
- Request for Funding: Amount and specific description of how the funds will be used.
Review: A committee with approval of the Brandywine Valley Quilters Board will select the award recipient(s). All applicants will be notified of the status of their application by June 1, 2020.
Follow-up: Within 6 months of receiving the scholarship award, recipients are expected to send an email or letter of acknowledgement which briefly describes how the award has been used. Send to bvqscholarships@yahoo.com.
The recipient or representative may be invited to report on their activities, experiences, or accomplishments at a regular monthly meeting of the Guild.
