2021 4-H and FFA Spring Dairy Show Cancelled

After consulting with the leadership of the Delaware Holstein Association, it has been determined that it is best to not hold the Spring Dairy Show this year.

Battle for the Bell, presented by Appoquinimink and Milford FFA – May 1st

This junior dairy show is open to all Delaware residents who are owners or lessors of Holstein, Jersey, Ayrshire, Guernsey, Milking Shorthorn and Brown Swiss cattle. Both heifers and dairy feeder calves will be shown.

Delaware Junior Dairy Leasing Agreements Due May 1

The Junior Dairy Leasing Agreement is available on the State 4-H Animal Science webpage

Completed dairy leases can be mailed to Susan Garey 69 Transportation Circle, Dover, DE 19901 faxed to (302)735-8130 or scanned and emailed to truehart@udel.edu Please no cell phone photographs of completed lease agreements unless you mail a hard copy as follow up. Dairy leasing agreements will be compiled and provided to the Delaware State Fair for verification of leased fair entries.

The Delaware Livestock Expo is Moving…to a New Date in 2021- NEW Dairy Division!

The Delaware Livestock Expo is moving to a new date in 2021- September 11-12th at the Delaware State Fairgrounds. This junior exhibitor show is open to youth up to age 21 as of January 1, 2021 from around the region and offers showmanship and breeding classes for beef, sheep, swine and meat goats. New for 2021 will be a dairy division for our junior dairy exhibitors! Entries and entry fees will be accepted online this year via the Showman app and will be due by August 20th. Stay tuned for information about our outdoor fundraiser with a benefit auction, live music and food trucks being held at the Delaware Ag Museum May 8 from 5-9 pm! 2021 Delaware State 4-H Avian Bowl Study Sections

We are hopeful to be able to hold an in person 4-H Avian Bowl during the Delaware State Fair this year. If a face to face event is not possible, the contest will be converted to a virtual one and be run online utilizing the Qualtrics platform at the beginning of August. In the meantime, 4-H members can begin to prepare for it! The national study sections have been released and are as follows:
