Tagging Dates for Market Animals for the Delaware State Fair-

Tagging dates begin this weekend in New Castle County for market lambs, market goats, market hogs, steers and feeder calves. Please note the updated minimum weight requirements for a market hog to be tagged for the Delaware State Fair. The previously published weights were provided by a swine department official prior to the publication of the 2022 DSF livestock handbook. The weights below are updated and correct. If your hog does not meet the minimum weight requirement on that date, it will need to come back to another tagging date and meet the minimum requirement for that date. This is to insure that your hog has the best chance of making weight in July.

On May 7, 2022 Newark- Cook Family Farm- 8:00 AM-11:00 AM – Minimum weight is 75 lbs.

On May 15, 2022 DSF- 8:00 AM-11:00 AM – Minimum weight is 80 lbs.

On May 24, 2022 DSF- 5:00 PM- 8:00 PM – Minimum weight is 85 lbs.
