Join NCC 4-H’ers, parents and staff at the Brandywine Hundred Library for the 2015 4-H Public Speaking Contest. The state fair qualifier event will be held on Wednesday, November 18, at 6:00pm.
Public speaking skills are consistently ranked in the top five among the desired skill sets of a professional. In 4-H, we set out to develop these skills at an early age and continue to cultivate the art of communication into adulthood. In addition to enhancing the ability to effectively communicate; this contest also contributes to an increase in self-esteem and self-confidence, development of critical thinking skills and an expansion of skills for planning and preparation.
As you can see, there are many benefits to participating in the upcoming public speaking event. Please contact Mallory Vogl if you would like a public speaking training during an upcoming club meeting. To register, please submit your registration form to Lisa Bishop by Wednesday, November 11.
