There are healthy ways to deal with our feelings, such as deep breathing, meditation, drawing, or writing in a journal. You can also practice coping skills together to bond.

Using these tools helps you to start to build self-control.

Here are some benefits of journaling:

● Increase self-awareness

● Journaling can help you get to know yourself better, including your secrets, embarrassing thoughts, and feelings you don’t want to share with others.

● Work through problems

● Journaling can help you break down problems, fears, and obstacles into more manageable components

● Here are some tips for journaling:

● You can journal in a notebook, on paper, or on your computer.

● You can write, draw, or type in your journal.

● You can use colored pens, stickers, and photos to make your journal feel like a safe

space.

● You can use a notepad app on your phone or tablet but be aware that cloud storage may transfer your notes to other devices.

● You can journal for 15 minutes and write whatever comes to mind.
