Widener Invitational 2019

This past weekend the team competed at the Widener Invitational in Chester, PA. Results are available here.

For the men, the meet was highlighted by Mike Durkin’s performance in the 5000m. His time of 15:12.51 is a personal best and earned him 11th overall. With an blazing 64-second closing lap, he improved his #4 all-time mark on the performance list. Pat LaPorte competed in the 1500m, where he ran a personal best of 4:18.60, placing 3rd in his heat. Nick Benton also ran a personal best of 27.88 in the 200m, placing 69th overall.

The women’s distance team had an array of personal bests. Morgan Gallagher improved her #2 all-time mark in the 400m to 1:03.95 and won her 800m heat in 2:38.22. Emily Hansell also competed in the 800m–she won her heat in 2:29.44, which is #4 all-time and a personal best. Mara Crispin and Emma Bateman ran personal bests of 2:34.94 and 2:39.51, respectively. In the 1500m, Hansell ran a season best of 5:11.72 and Allison Einig ran a #10 all-time 5:15.69. Other personal bests came from Bateman in 5:16.17, Elise LaFramboise in 5:16.94, Crispin in 5:21.87, and Liz Steenkamer in 5:53.27. Einig also competed in the 3000m steeplechase, where she improved her #3 all-time mark to 12:58.22 and placed 7th, and was followed by Kendra Cutler who improved her #4 all-time mark to 13:07.04 and placed 9th overall.
