Happy Valley Invitational 2019

This past weekend, the Blue Hens competed in the the Happy Valley Invitational in State College, PA! A strong season opened yielded three new club records! Official results are available here.

In the women’s sprints, Brittany Georges beat her own club record in the 200m, running 27.18 for 3rd place overall. She also took 2nd in the 60m in 8.23, and was joined by Jenay Valentine who ran 8.60 for 8th place overall and #3 all-time. With the addition of Amanda Harding and Alissa Niedzielski, the girls broke the club record in the 4x200m with a time of 1:55.21! Jenay Valentine also broke a club record on her own, triple jumping 9.44m!

On the distance side, Molly Doyle once again posted a top time. Doyle ran 5:38.27 in the Mile, taking 3rd overall and #6 all-time. In the 800m, Allison Einig ran 2:39.85, which earned her 7th place overall, and a #6 all-time performance.

For the men, Pat LaPorte and Greg Biddle placed well in the 800m. LaPorte ran 2:03.86 for 8th overall, and Biddle ran 2:05.06 for 10th overall. Fellow Newark High School alum Brandon Holveck took 5th against a field of 32 runners in the 3000m, posting a time of 9:17.25. In the sprints, Nate Reynolds was 10th overall in the 200m, running 24.50.
