Delaware Invitational 2018

Today the team had our first home meet of the season, the Delaware Invitational. Comfortable conditions allowed for some strong times and a good team performance! Full results are available here.

Captain Emily Magoon put down the fastest time for the women’s team, covering the  White Clay Creek State Park 6k course in 26:29.5 to place 23rd overall. Freshmen Ana Dacey and Natalie Fuhr came in after Magoon, running 26:55.9 to place 27th and 27:09.0 to place 29th, respectively. Clocking in at 27:11.7 was Abby Kaye, who placed 30th; Captain Elise LaFramboise was right after Kaye, running 27:12.3. Our top 7 was completed by senior Haley Reid, who finished 33rd in 27:40.9, and freshman Allison Einig, who was just behind Reid in 27:55.1.

On the men’s side, Mike Durkin breezed through in 27:24.0, a time that posits him as the 8th fastest runner to compete on our home 8k course in the team’s history! 2nd for the team and 10th overall, Vice President Brandon Holveck clocked in at 28:18.9. Freshman Nick Fafel made his collegiate debut in 29:13.5, placing 23th overall. Kenny Mohs was next for the team, who finished in 30:18.0 to place 17th. Freshman Paul Filipow finished directly after Mohs in 30:34.9. Evan Massa was 21st overall in 31:23.3 and Ricky Farrell was 22nd in 31:27.1.

Both the women’s and men’s teams showed great depth today, and will return to race in the Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh University in two weeks! With photography from Jenna Jackson and Lori Magoon, pictures are below:
