Women's College Class of 1921

Policies Subcommittee

The Policies subcommittee works to better understand the issues that affect women at the University, including childcare and leave policies. The goal of the subcommittee is to identify the needs of the UD community and to make recommendations and advocate for new initiatives.

Communications Subcommittee

The communications subcommittee’s primary responsibility is to put together the Women’s Caucus Annual Report. This work happens over the summer months, with a targeted publication date early in the fall semester. Volunteers are always needed to write text; gather info (especially for the news and kudos sections, plus any special features); analyze data; edit the writing; find appropriate photos and other illustrations; create a layout.

In addition, this subcommittee maintains the Women’s Caucus website and helps with the Caucus’s marketing needs during the academic year, such as writing stories for UDaily on our activities and meetings or to highlight actions by the administration (e.g., the flex-time policy); designing mailers, typically postcards.

Community Outreach Subcommittee

The Community Outreach Subcommittee is responsible for planning the two caucus general meetings and the annual Torch Award ceremony. This group also is responsible for other events, such as brown bag lunches, as needed, and works to create opportunities for collaboration with other caucuses and campus units.
