John is a second year PhD student. His prior work as an agricultural extensionist in soil recuperation and apiculture in Peace Corps Paraguay led him to University of Delaware where he completed his MS in Entomology. His current research focuses on honey bee genetic diversity as a focal point of resistance to Varroa destructor and as source of overall colony well-being. He is also interested in biological control using entomopathogenic nematodes and genotypic stock selection for honey bee breeding.
