New Graduate Program for Microbiology

As we are all very aware, bacterial species and microbes are everywhere and are thriving in their environments. In a field that is rapidly growing, it is extremely important for UD to stay in the forefront of research and education by offering a new Masters and Doctorate degree in Microbiology.

When you join the new interdisciplinary Microbiology Graduate Program at UD, you will join a vibrant and “cultured” community of microbiologists with faculty in 14 departments across campus. This breadth gives students access to an extensive range of equipment, collaborators, and expertise. Our goal is to characterize the microbes in different environments – from the human body to water to soil and sediment – and understand how they work, so that we can put them to work for us.

The Microbiology Graduate Program is currently being funded by a Unidel award where student tuition and Fellowship stipend is 100% covered…so now is the time to apply if you are interested!! We would love to have some UD undergrads continue their studies and research with us.
