Group Health Coaching for Cancer Survivors: Assessing the Feasibility and Effects of Group Community-Based Remote Health Coaching on Health Behavior Outcomes for Cancer Survivors

The purpose of the study is to determine the feasibility of providing group-based health coaching through a videoconferencing platform (Zoom) for cancer survivors. We also want to determine the program’s ability to improve health, fitness, and wellbeing. Adult cancer survivors anywhere along the cancer continuum are being recruited across the state of Delaware. The intervention provides 6 virtual tailored health coaching session in a small group setting (6-8 people) over a 3-month period. Each session provides education around healthy lifestyle changes such as stress management, healthy eating, sleep, physical activity and more. Data on physical activity, diet, mental health, sleep, and quality of life is being collected before coaching, immediately following coaching, and three months after coaching completion. This project is no longer recruiting new participants. Please contact the primary investigator at nicolejb@udel.edu for more information. Data on physical activity, diet, mental health, sleep, and quality of life is being collected before coaching, immediately following coaching, and three months after coaching completion. This project is no longer recruiting new participants. Nicole Berzins, Clinical Research Coordinator / PhD Student Health Behavior Science & Promotion. This program is generously funded by the Longwood Foundation and is a community partnership of Cancer Support Community Delaware, University of Delaware and Stockton University.
