Panos Artemiadis
Director, Professor of Mechanical Engineering

Panos Artemiadis received his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in Greece, in 2009. Then he worked as a postdoctoral research associate in the Mechanical Engineering Department, at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He worked as an Assistant Professor in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Arizona State University since 2011 and then as an associate professor until 2019, when he joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Delaware, where he is currently a Professor. He is the recipient of the 2014 DARPA Young Faculty Award, the 2014 AFOSR Young Investigator Award, and he is an ASME Fellow.

Bradley Hobbs, Ph.D.
Post-Doctoral Researcher
Bradley Hobbs received his B.S. in Mechatronics Engineering from Middle Tennessee State University and his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Delaware. His Ph.D. focused on a visual feedback approach to training gait kinetics using robotic systems over compliant terrain. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher focused on the research and development of a custom force platform for robot-assisted rehabilitation.

Charikleia Angelidou
Graduate Student (Ph.D.)
Charikleia Angelidou received her Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and her MSc in Autonomous Systems and Robotics from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in Greece. She has worked in the field of Robotic Process Automation as a software developer from 2020 – 2021. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering on the performance analysis of an ankle-foot prosthesis with controllable impedance in dynamic environments.

Jesus Orozco
Graduate Student (Ph.D.)
Jesus Orozco received his B.S. and M.Eng. in Aerospace Engineering from Texas A&M University. He also worked in the Flight Dynamics Facility at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in support of Launch Vehicles, Human Space Flight, and various on-orbit spacecraft. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering focused on electroencephalographic feedback on subject engagement in infants with the use of a robotic swarm.

Stergios E. Bachoumas
Graduate Student (Ph.D.)
Stergios E. Bachoumas received his Diploma in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 2019. He also received his M.Sc. in Autonomous Systems and Robotics from NTUA in 2022. His research is focused on creating multimodal interfaces for the interactions between human operators and swarms of robots.

Shubham S. Kumbhar received his dual degree (B.Tech. + M.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) in India, in 2022. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering focused on developing control frameworks for physical human-humanoid collaboration.

Saahil Regmi

Saahil Regmi received his BS in Mathematical Studies from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. He received his MS in Mathematics at Virginia Tech where his focus was on optimal control theory. Saahil is pursuing his PhD in Mechanical Engineering, where his main focus is on investigating applications of mathematical modeling strategies to describe gait adaptation.

Ben Caro received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Delaware in May 2024, and he is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Robotics. Previously, he worked on creating a simulated environment for robot swarm control. Currently, he is working with a bimanual manipulator to automate complex human tasks.
