Panos Artemiadis
Director, Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering

Panos Artemiadis received his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in Greece, in 2009. Then he worked as a postdoctoral research associate in the Mechanical Engineering Department, at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He worked as an Assistant Professor in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the Arizona State University since 2011, and then as an associate professor until 2019 when he joined the department of mechanical engineering at the University of Delaware, where he is currently an Associate Professor. He is the recipient of the 2014 DARPA Young Faculty Award and the 2014 AFOSR Young Investigator Award.

Bradley Hobbs

Bradley Hobbs received his B.S. in Mechatronics Engineering from Middle Tennessee State University. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering focused on modeling post-stroke hemiparetic gait for improved robot-assisted neuro-rehabilitation

Chrysostomos Karakasis
Graduate Student (Ph.D.)
Chrysostomos Karakasis received his Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in Greece, in 2019. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering focused on developing controllers for humanoids and lower-limb prostheses to achieve locomotion over compliant surfaces. CV

Vaughn Chambers

Charikleia Angelidou
Graduate Student (Ph.D.)
Charikleia Angelidou received her Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and her MSc in Autonomous Systems and Robotics from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in Greece. She has worked in the field of Robotic Process Automation as a software developer from 2020 – 2021. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering on the performance analysis of an ankle-foot prosthesis with controllable impedance in dynamic environments.

Jesus Orozco
Graduate Student (Ph.D.)
Jesus Orozco received his B.S. and M.Eng. in Aerospace Engineering from Texas A&M University. He also worked in the Flight Dynamics Facility at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in support of Launch Vehicles, Human Space Flight, and various on-orbit spacecraft. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering focused on electroencephalographic feedback on subject engagement in infants with the use of a robotic swarm.

Stergios E. Bachoumas
Graduate Student (Ph.D.)
Stergios E. Bachoumas received his Diploma in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 2019. He also received his M.Sc. in Autonomous Systems and Robotics from NTUA in 2022. His research is focused on creating multimodal interfaces for the interactions between human operators and swarms of robots.

Robert Salati is currently pursuing a 4+1 in mechanical engineering, along with a master’s degree in robotics from the University of Delaware. He is expected to graduate with a master’s degree in 2023. His research focuses on simulating the locomotion of a humanoid robot over compliant surfaces.

Angela Kuczykowski
Master's in Robotics Student
Angela Kuczykowski is currently pursuing a 4+1 in mechanical engineering, along with a master’s degree in robotics from the University of Delaware. She is expected to graduate with a master’s degree in 2023. She is also working towards minors in both Mathematics and Integrated Design. Her research is on the analysis of human gaze when interacting with a swarm of robotic agents.
