Panos Artemiadis received his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in Greece, in 2009. Then he worked as a postdoctoral research associate in the Mechanical Engineering Department, at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He worked as an Assistant Professor in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the Arizona State University since 2011, and then as an associate professor until 2019 when he joined the department of mechanical engineering at the University of Delaware, where he is currently an Associate Professor. He is the recipient of the 2014 DARPA Young Faculty Award and the 2014 AFOSR Young Investigator Award.

Chrysostomos Karakasis

Chrysostomos Karakasis

Chrysostomos Karakasis received his Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in Greece, in 2019. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering on the development and control of a smart powered ankle-foot prosthesis that supports increased mobility for real-life activities. CV

Vaughn Chambers received his B.S. in Engineering with concentrations in Mechanical and Biomedical from Messiah College. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering focused on modeling the brain’s involvement in inter-leg coordination during walking.

Charikleia Angelidou

Charikleia Angelidou received her Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and her MSc in Autonomous Systems and Robotics from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in Greece. She has worked in the field of Robotic Process Automation as a software developer from 2020 – 2021. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering on the performance analysis of an ankle-foot prosthesis with controllable impedance in dynamic environments.

Jesus Orozco

Jesus Orozco

Graduate Student (Ph.D.)

Jesus Orozco received his B.S. and M.Eng. in Aerospace Engineering from Texas A&M University. He also worked in the Flight Dynamics Facility at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in support of Launch Vehicles, Human Space Flight, and various on-orbit spacecraft. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering focused on electroencephalographic feedback on subject engagement in infants with the use of a robotic swarm.

Zachary The’ is in the junior year of his undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Delaware and is working towards graduating with a master’s degree in 2023. He is working on analyzing the changes in human gait while on a variable stiffness treadmill and methods to create standardized references for motion.

Angela Kuczykowski

Angela Kuczykowski is currently working towards her bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Delaware and is anticipated to graduate in May 2022. She is also working towards minors in both Mathematics and Integrated Design. Her research is on the analysis of human gaze when interacting with a swarm of robotic agents.

Jack Swift

Undergraduate Student

Jack Swift is currently an undergraduate studying for a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with minors in Mathematics and Electrical and Computer Engineering and is expected to graduate in May 2022. He is working on developing a controller for quadrotors that effectively simulates flock movement. The purpose of his work is to analyze human observation of collective behavior in unmanned aerial vehicles.

Sydney Przywara is pursuing an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Delaware with a minor in Biomechanics, expected to graduate in Spring 2020. She is currently working on a treadmill that assists in gait rehabilitation through modeling the biomechanics of varying walking surfaces.

Michael Rosen is pursuing an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Aerospace and expects to graduate in May 2022. He is currently working on the collaboration of a multirotor drone and ground vehicle to help aid the ground vehicle in navigation.
