Important changes to the Esri ArcGIS software licensing at UD

UD GIS community,

Starting August 2017 a new ArcGIS Desktop License Server has been put in place. The old “server end of life” is August 31, 2017. If you are connected to the old license server your software will not function past August 31, 2017. To avoid any interruption in service submit the “Request for Service – IT Software Licenses” webform and a new license will be provided.

Moving forward, as previously announced, ALL individual users will be authorized with a single use license, which allows ArcGIS Desktop/Pro to work independently off network/Internet. The license must be renewed annually. Labs will be provided with the License Server information.

A single seat will allow you to have ArcGIS Desktop loaded on your work PC and on your laptop (must request 2 provisioning files) as long as both are not used concurrently. A new provisioning file will be sent to you once the software payment is processed.

During the 2015-16 and 2016-17 academic years, the price for one seat of Esri Bundle (inc. ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online, e-Learning) was $185. The price will remain the same this year. All Esri licenses are annual and expire Aug 31.

The software is located on UDeploy.

Labs: Esri software is licensed by the number of maximum concurrent seats. Labs should pay for each workstation where the software is installed since all machines may be used simultaneously.
Individuals: An individual who has the software installed on an office machine, a home machine, and a laptop should only pay for one seat but may request up to two licenses, as long as none of the Esri products are being used simultaneously.
