Congratulations to UD’s Dana Veron for completing her second visit to Antarctica, one of the most remote corners of the earth, this past winter. The entire UD-IT HPC team is extremely thankful for all your support and research performed using UD’s HPC community clusters especially since such modeling is essential for the safety of researchers and support staff on the continent and contributes to scientists’ understanding of global climate change.

Dana Veron, an associate professor of geography in the College of Earth, Ocean and Environment at the University of Delaware is also a stakeholder and supporter in building UD’s HPC Community.

Veron will describe her experiences in Antarctica in a travelogue talk at the Delaware Museum of Natural History on Thursday, Oct. 3 at 7 p.m which will launch a new lecture series, World of Discovery — Exploring Our Global Environment.
