December 12: GIS Coffee Hour

On December 12, 2017 from 12:00 to 1:30 pm in Pearson 304 Studio C Derek Law, Esri Product Management (Redlands, CA), will give a presentation titled ArcGIS Apps: Selecting the Right Apps for your Organization. In this talk Derek will explore some of the new apps available as part of the ArcGIS Platform.

The ArcGIS platform includes a collection of apps to help you get your job done and extend geospatial awareness throughout an organization or community. Apps extend the reach of GIS to everyone. The challenge can be understanding which apps work best for certain needs. Should I use Collector for ArcGIS or Survery123 for ArcGIS? What does Esri offer for business users? This session will take you on a high-level tour of the many ArcGIS apps available with the ArcGIS platform.

This meeting is open to all (students are welcome!).

Other topics that will be covered at this meeting include

  • GIS Day recap
  • Roundtable discussion

Contact Olena Smith (olena@udel.edu) if you would like to join the meeting via telephone/video conferencing.

Coffee and doughnuts will be provided!

Share your research at UD’s GIS Day 2017!

GIS Day is just around the corner, and we are gearing up for our third annual GIS Day celebration at the University of Delaware. Each year we reach out to GIS users from the community and ask if they will submit a poster on how they use the power of GIS in their research. This year, we’d like to invite you!

If you are interested in submitting a poster, IT and the Library will provide free poster printing if poster files are submitted in PDF format to Olena Smith (olena@udel.edu) by Friday, November 10. We will accept posters sized 24″x36″ or 48″x36″. See more information about accepted poster file formats.

Please submit this form or email olena@udel.edu by Friday, November 3 if you plan to submit a poster.

We hope that you will join us in celebrating GIS and share your GIS experience with our growing community.

Contact Olena Smith (olena@udel.edu) if you have any additional questions.
