Bio-inspired outreach events involve students and communities across all of this PIRE’s sites. They include activities such as science enrichment for elementary and middle school students, community involvement and education in science and technology, and science mentoring of high school students.

Education activities involve students and faculty members working together on research across institutions and across borders. All of the research thrust areas are multi-institutional; papers and presentations often include investigators from multiple sites in the program.
