With fall harvest in full effect, the results of a long growing season are finally presenting themselves. Was your 2016 risk management strategy enough to provide a safety net for your operation in cases of loss? Will the same strategy be enough to cover your plans for 2017?

The 2014 Farm Bill expanded crop insurance coverage options for organic producers and for beginning farmers. It also streamlined whole-farm options that may benefit diversified operations. There are more ways than ever for Delaware farmers to insure their business, including protection for dairy and swine producers.
