Pay special attention to Japanese beetle. A small demo plot at Carvel had significant defoliation this week. Defoliation thresholds for Japanese beetle are 15 to 20 percent leaf defoliation.

Stink bugs continue to move around as indicated by blacklight trap catches, although in numbers FAR less than last season. If you monitor for brown marmorated stink bug, there is a threshold based on sticky panel trap. When the number of bugs cumulatively intercepted has reached 5-10 along the edge of the orchard, a treatment may be advised.
