In cooperation with a United Soybean Board supported effort to document pest losses across the country, I am conducting a soybean pest loss survey. This effort was started several years ago by my counterparts at Mississippi State University and is led by Dr. Fred Musser. The purpose of the survey is to get a ‘snapshot’ estimate of how various pests affected soybeans economically, either in the form of direct yield loss due to their feeding or the indirect cost associated with putting out a pesticide/other management.
