Maura Perkins
Congratulations to Maura Perkins, 2017 Woman of the Year
Maura has been a mainstay of the UDWC for many years, serving as Membership Chair, and Treasurer, and has been invaluable as a resource for the Women’s Club about the ins and outs at UD, from helping us locate newcomers, to keeping us informed of employee wellness programs at the STAR campus.
Maura currently works as the Graduate Program Coordinator for the UD Department of Physics and Astronomy. She has used her legal training as a court appointed advocate for children through the CASA program, has been a volunteer for the Newark Symphony Orchestra, a parent volunteer at Tower Hill School, and helped many years at the Wilmington Flower Market. She is also a notary public. Her hobbies are hiking, gardening, cooking, and photography.
In honor of Maura’s interest in the Newark Symphony Orchestra, musicians Kathleen Chapmond, Betsy Erickson, and Laura Rogers performed at this year's luncheon, held at the Newark Country Club.
