SRBC Summer Environmental Intern
The Susquehanna River Basin Commission (SRBC), an interstate water resources management agency, seeks a summer environmental intern to assist with water quality and biological monitoring activities based out of its Harrisburg office. This is a paid ($15.00/hour), temporary position without benefits which is needed for a 3-month assignment beginning approximately May 13, 2024.
Primary duties of the position include performing field data collection, compiling and entering data, supporting data analysis activities and maintaining equipment.
Candidates with the following eligibility requirements will be considered:
- Current students working toward a Bachelor’s degree in biology, ecology, environmental science or other related disciplines.
- Field work and overnight travel throughout the entire basin is required.
- Field work requires sufficient physical stamina to wade in streams and hike in all types of terrain and weather conditions while carrying scientific equipment.
- Experience with Microsoft Office programs—specifically Excel and Access. GIS experience is a plus.
- Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.
Please note that this position is classified as non-exempt, which means it is eligible for overtime pay.
