Our internship program provides you with the opportunity to apply your knowledge in an R&D industrial setting. You will be assigned meaningful work on innovative projects and, while enhancing and developing your technical skills, will aid in solving real industrial R&D problems. This opportunity is located at Stine Research Center, Newark, DE.

FMC Research & Development, Discovery Biology group is currently seeking an initiative-taking Agronomy, Crop Science, Plant Biology, Weed Science Intern to join our 2023 internship program.

The successful intern will participate in the evaluation of the sensitivity of plants at different stages to herbicides in the greenhouse bioassays. A differential response to the growth stage at the time of evaluation is expected. Data generated by the intern will aid to determine the most appropriate growth stage for different weed species for herbicide application under controlled conditions. At the end of this project, the intern will have a better understanding of the importance of herbicide application at the correct stage. Intern will have hands-on training on plant propagation, test maintenance, sprayer application, data recording, data analysis, and data presentation.

Education

To be considered for an Internship at FMC’s Stine Research Center, candidates must be studying at an accredited college or university and have at least a 3.0 GPA in your major.

Qualifications

  • Qualified applicants for this internship opportunity will be pursuing a degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Plant Biology, or Weed Science.
  • Successful candidates will be Undergraduate (Juniors or Seniors) or MS during the Summer of 2023.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong desire to learn and develop.
