FMC Corporation is pleased to invite College of Agriculture and Natural Resources students to FMC’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Enhancing Research Symposium at Stine Research Center in Newark, Delaware on September 29, 2022. Meet with FMC employees who match your interest area; as illustrated in the graphic, FMC boasts a wide variety of disciplines. This all-day event includes several presenters, including keynote speaker Professor Simon Zebelo from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore to discuss his research in integrated pest management.
Who should attend?
Anyone is welcome including undergraduate and graduate students, as well as any interested University faculty and staff.
Agenda
8:00 to 8:30 a.m.: Check-in, networking and breakfast
8:30 to 9 a.m.: Icebreaker and speaker introductions
9 to 10 a.m.: Keynote remarks from Dr. Zebelo
10 to 10:15 a.m.: Break
10:15 to 10:45 a.m.: FMC speaker
10:45 to 11 a.m.: Break
11 to 11:30 a.m.: FMC speaker
11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m.: Headshots and Lunch
1 to 4:30 p.m.: Student poster presentations, site tours, 1:1 mentoring and industry group discussions
For the student presentations, FMC is asking students to bring a poster describing the research of their choice. In the afternoon, students will be grouped by subject matter. Students will participate in a poster session for FMC employees and visitors, receive a tour of an area of interest and have a small group mentoring session. Students will take part in a roundtable discussion with a diverse slate of FMC employees to answer additional questions in a bigger group format. This agenda will allow the students to ask questions about diversity, equity and inclusion; CVs; the interview process; work-life balance; benefits and more.
