Do you ever think about what is under your feet? Soils play a critical role in our lives – from growing plants, to purifying our drinking water, to maintaining environmental quality. Students in Introduction to Soil Science will gain fundamental knowledge of soils and their inner workings. Soils are complex but understanding how they function is critical to our very existence! Whether you will pursue a career directly related to soils, indirectly as land managers, or even just as a concerned citizen, an appreciation for soils and the need to preserve them is essential for the future of life on Earth.
