The Andrew Johnson National Historic Site in Tennessee is hiring two Landscape Stewardship Apprentices to help rehabilitate the historic landscape of the National Cemetery. If you’re passionate about historic preservation, landscape stewardship, and making a tangible difference, this is an incredible opportunity to gain professional experience and training with the National Park Service (NPS).
The positions will work on rehabilitating the historic landscape of the National Cemetery, involving tree and turf rehabilitation, among other preservation activities. These are six-month positions that will receive training, mentoring and lots of professional work experience. They can lead to eligibility for a permanent position with the NPS or other federal resource management agency.
These apprenticeship positions are part of the Landscape Stewardship Corps, a service wide training program to promote skills in the care of cultural landscapes. Check out this video about the Landscape Stewardship Corps.
