Black Beauty Ranch Animal Internships

Black Beauty Ranch is one of America’s largest and most diverse animal sanctuaries in the United States. Part of the Humane Society of the United States and located in Murchison, Texas, the 1,400-acre sanctuary provides a permanent haven to over 600 domestic and exotic animals representing over 40 different species. Residents include tigers, bears, primates, kangaroos, bison, horses, farm animals and more.

The mission of Black Beauty Ranch is to provide a lifelong safe-haven for animals (bison, equine, domestic farm animals, exotic wildlife, primates and more) who have been rescued from abuse, cruelty, neglect and exploitation.  BBR is accredited by the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries and is a member of the North American Primate Sanctuary Alliance (NAPSA) and the Big Cat Sanctuary Association.  These organizations are comprised of top-notch sanctuaries whose mission is to advance and advocate for the welfare of the animals in their care.

Black Beauty Ranch offers internship opportunities for professionals looking to gain experience in the
field of animal welfare. Interns will have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience, knowledge about a variety of species and exposure to the operations of an animal care center while working alongside knowledgeable staff.

Internships are available quarterly (spring, summer, fall and winter) for 12-week sessions at
40 hours/week. These are PAID internships with FREE housing on-site.
