Barn Personnel at Delaware Park

Delaware Park is seeking applicants for Barn Personnel. This position has both Seasonal Full Time and Seasonal Part Time opportunities.

Here are some of the responsibilities:

Operating and maintaining the Lasix and receiving barn in clean and healthy condition
Ensuring that all collection procedures are done in accordance with chain of custody guidelines
Ensuring that only authorized personnel having business with a horse designated for testing are allowed in the test barn.
Handling barn paperwork, filling out sample cards, and providing labor numbers
Ensuring successful urine collection and sealing samples
Maintaining a sampling log

Here are some of the requirements:

Experience with handling of Thoroughbred horses is preferred
Must be able to life 50 pounds without difficulty
Ability to bend, reach, pull, push, kneel, squat, and grasp as needed
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
Assignments covering large areas with long walking distances, high volumes, diverse clientele, and noise
Must be able to work in all weather elements including heat, cold, and precipitation
Ability to read, write, speak, understand or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the necessary functions of the position
