Summer Job Shadow Program

Offered in June, the job shadowing program allows students to learn more about various professions, receive career-related advice and reflect on the ways in which their education can prepare them for life after college. Job shadowing may include workplace tours, meeting with key members of an organization and involvement in daily workplace activities. This program matches students from UD with alumni and employers who are currently working as professionals for a one-day in-person job shadow OR a one-on-one virtual, one-hour-long informational interview. Please note this is not a paid opportunity. 

Students must submit their application between Wednesday, April 17 through Wednesday, May 1, 2024.

Opportunities that may stand out for CANR Students:

• Assistant Director of Field Operations with the Phillies
  • Day-to-day responsibilities: they oversee the field/turfgrass maintenance and preparation of the playing surface at Citizens Bank Park for MLB games.
• Field Station Supervisor with FMC Corporation
  • Day-to-day responsibilities: they are the field station manager for FMC’s Global R&D Research farm, my daily responsibilities are constantly changing which keeps my job exciting and fun. My overall goal is to generate quality data to contribute to the discovery and development of pest management solutions for growers. As a result, during a single day, I may operate a tractor to plant corn, perform an evaluation on a field trial, fly a drone to monitor crop health, or host a farm tour showcasing a new product or technology.
