NEW Fall Course – PLSC167: Growing Plants in Space

During Fall 2024, the PLSC department will hold a NEW course – PLSC167: Growing Plants in Space, taught by Dr. Qingwu Meng in Fischer Greenhouse. The course cover exploring challenges and opportunities of growing plants (food crops and flowers) in spaceflight to support long-term space missions led by agencies like NASA. You will also learn about the history of space crop production, unique environmental stressors that affect plant growth, special considerations in plant care, and NASA research activities.
