Henry Foundation for Botanical Research: Curatorial Internship

Henry Foundation for Botanical Research – Curatorial Internship

The Henry Foundation for Botanical Research was founded in 1948 by Mary Gibson Henry as a place to trial, display, and teach about plants she collected across the United States. • Improve visitor experience by developing interpretive education, improving signage, and leading tours.
  • Work with a GIS system to maintain plant records and create interpretive maps.
  • Manage historical documents and photographs concerning Mary G. Henry’s botanical exploration, as well as her collection of >8000 herbarium specimens housed at the Philadelphia Academy of Natural Sciences

Compensation

  • Interns will be paid $12/hour and report to the collections curator. Internship length is variable, generally lasting 3 months.

*Note: Preference will be given to applicants studying or with experience in horticulture, botany, ecology, environmental landscaping, and related fields.
