Wilmington Animal Hospital is seeking pre-veterinary students who are interested in gaining experience in a high quality animal hospital, while working as technician assistants or veterinary technicians. WAH has a long history of employing UD pre-veterinary students for both summer employment and part-time employment throughout the school year. Two of our last 3 pre-veterinary students are currently enrolled in veterinary school.
WAH is a multi-doctor hospital with a team-approach to patient care. Our technicians are an integral part of patient and client care. We discuss our cases with our team and the doctors enjoy educating our pre-vet and vet students to help better prepare them for their future careers. WAH doctors practice high quality medicine with thorough diagnostic work ups, modern anesthetic protocols and monitoring, and high quality surgical and dental procedures. Additionally, we have a board-certified radiologist who provides ultrasound services weekly and a board-certified surgeon who sees patients on an as-needed basis. Pre-vet students with technician experience would be eligible for training in anesthesia monitoring and surgery/dental technician roles.
