This year’s security awareness education is now available. If you are required to take this training, you would have received an enrollment email on September 22nd. There are a few changes from last year, so here is what to expect:

Short on time? We’ve got you covered.

Get ready for a new kind of security awareness education that’s actually fun and efficient. We heard your feedback and created a new program that’s faster and more engaging.

This year, our security training will be a 5-minute, humorous module with a short quiz at the end. Here’s what you need to know:

  • Faculty: You only need to complete Session 1 training.
  • Staff: You need to complete both Session 1 and Session 2.

We believe this new format will help you learn and retain important security information in a way that fits your busy schedule. Session details are as follows:

  • Session 1: Don’t Be Like Rick: Security Awareness x3 Top Tips, approximately 5 minutes (available until 1/31/2026)
  • Session 2: TBD, will be selected when new content comes available at the end of the year, expected to be 5 minutes (commences 2/1/2026, ends 6/30/2026)

Optional Monthly Episodes

We’re also excited to announce the release of Season 5 of Restricted Intelligence — our lighthearted and optional video series focused on security awareness.

Episode 1 premieres on October 1, and you’ll receive an email notification once it’s available to watch. New episodes will continue to roll out approximately once a month, so keep an eye on your inbox!

Once you finish any part of the security awareness education, a certificate of completion will be available for you to download in your KnowBe4 console.

Phishing Education

If you click on two or more consecutive phishing email simulations, you’ll be automatically enrolled in a brief phishing practice session. This is designed to help you strengthen your ability to identify and avoid phishing attempts. To learn more about the importance of phishing simulations and how they protect our community, please visit the Secure UD webpage.

By completing your security awareness education, you are helping UD comply with various regulatory requirements and reduce the risk of data breaches, malware infections, phishing attempts, and other malicious activities. This knowledge will help you keep your data and UD’s data safe.
