This year’s security awareness training is now available. If you are required to take this training, you would have received an enrollment email on Sept 9th. There are a few changes from last year, so here is what to expect:
- A short, compliance-mandated, interactive video training session will be required twice a year. These 15-minute videos will educate users about cybersecurity threats and how to recognize and avoid them. More frequent training has been shown to be more effective in educating users about new threats and enhancing knowledge retention.
- Session 1: Kevin Mitnick’s Security Awareness Training, 15 minutes (commenced 9/9/24, ends 1/31/25)
- Session 2: TBD, will be selected when new content comes available at the end of the year, expected to be 15 minutes (will commence 2/1/25 and end 6/30/25)
Completion of this education will enter you into a drawing for prizes at the end of each training period.
- Season 3 of Restricted Intelligence, the light and fun (and still optional) video series. Episode 1 was released on October 1, 2024, and you should have received an email notification indicating a new episode of “Restricted Intelligence” is available. A new episode will be released approximately each month.
- For phishing awareness training, if you click on two or more consecutive phishing email simulations, you will be enrolled in a short phishing practice to help develop the ability to recognize and avoid phishing emails.
By completing your Security Awareness Education, you are helping UD reduce the risk of data breaches, malware infections, phishing attempts, and other malicious activities. This knowledge will help you keep your data and UD’s data safe.
Once you finish any part of the Security Awareness training, a certificate of completion will be available for you to download in your KnowBe4 console.
A chance to be the Monthly Phishing Test Reporting Prize Winner!
UD Information Technologies will also randomly select one Phishing Test winner each month. The winner will be selected from a list of all users who reported the monthly phishing email with the Phish Alert Button (PAB). The winner will have their choice of several prize options, so be sure to report those phishing emails with the PAB!
