Effective January 14, 2020, Microsoft will no longer support or provide security updates for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008/R2.
IT Pro teams within each college are identifying systems within their unit that are running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008/R2 and are either upgrading these systems to supported OS versions (e.g., Windows 10, Server 2016, Server 2019) or permanently disconnecting them from the University network.
UDIT strongly recommends that you upgrade your computer’s operating system to Microsoft Windows 10, which is available to download and install for free:
Microsoft Windows (Work-at-home)
Microsoft Windows (for University-owned systems)
After January 14, 2020, any systems still using Windows 7 or Server 2008 will be subject to additional remediation efforts through the vulnerability management process,
