img_0749Some holders of UD Pro Cards are reporting getting fake SMS text alerts on their cell phones. The alerts are allegedly from Bank of America, the provider of UD procurement cards.

Note that the link is NOT to a legitimate Bank of America site. The scammer hopes you won’t notice all the stuff he’s added to the URL in the text message: wwv.bankofamerica.com.53.bvg530.com. We have discovered that this link has been used in other SMiShing attacks that try to lure Bank of America customers to click a malicious link.

If you are having a problem with your UD Pro card, contact UD Procurement Services. Do NOT respond to text messages like the one shown here. Just delete it.

(Note: In the news media, this is referred to as a SMiShing attack — a phishing attack that is trying to trick you into surrendering credentials — except that it’s delivered via SMS text message not via email.)
