FAQs
Q: What is Lindy Hop?
A: Lindy Hop, is a style of dance that emerged from the Harlem Renaissance in the 1930s. It was heavily influenced by the music of the time, jazz, and named after famous aviator, Charles Lindbergh. The dance itself brought together many people from different walks of life, and in doing so, created a completely different culture. After WWII, Lindy Hop lost popularity. In the late 80s and early 90s, there was a revival which brought back to light the history of the music and dance. That is why we still dance today.
