Meet the Officers
Meet the people who organize The Swing Club at UD. As board members, these individuals make up the core of teachers and DJ’s for the club. And that doesn’t include everything they do behind the scenes!
Oh, and don’t forget to ask them to dance.
Jessica Pigeon is a senior Psychology major with minors in Cognitive Science and Human Development-Family Sciences. She fell in love with dancing when she saw the club dancing outside Perkins in the moonlight and wanted to feel as happy as they looked. In her free time, she reads fantasy and looks up pictures of cats to send to her friends. Jess loves the friendly community that Swing Club created and is looking to continue that tradition.
Phoebe is a sophomore Biological Sciences Major with a concentration in Cellular and Molecular Biology and Dance Minor. She has been doing various types of dance for over a decade, and started Lindy Hop the fall of her freshman year. When she is not doing homework, she can be found watching Youtube videos, taking care of her Furbies, and bothering her friends.
Kacie is a Sophomore Secondary English Education major with minors in Theatre Studies and Finding Really Cool Leaves on the Side of the Road. Kacie discovered swing dancing the summer after her senior year of high school, and immediately decided she wanted to keep dancing and wearing twirly dresses until she’s old and wrinkly and has 4 replacement hips. In her free time, Kacie can be found thoroughly enjoying a hot beverage, rewatching the same garbage TV shows, raving about what she learned in class today, or showing you this REALLY cool leaf she just found! Would you LOOK at this leaf?!
Simon is a sophomore English Major with minors in Dance and Global Studies with Language. He found Lindy Hop in high school and immediately fell in love with it. In his free time, Simon can be found writing novels, watching bad TV shows, wandering around in search of weird campus secrets, or accidentally becoming psychic. The only thing he knows for certain is that Connor may or may not be a ghost.
Kimberly Santiago, Student Advisor for Swing Club, is currently a junior English major at UD. She transferred to UD last year and has since grown to appreciate UD’s lovely campus and its even lovelier people. She has been dancing since she was 9, and she hopes to continue dancing for years to come. When Kimberly’s not swing dancing, she can be seen studying with friends at Perkins, walking around campus for no particular reason, and eating Dunkin’ Donuts donuts. After her college graduation, Kimberly hopes to become an ESL teacher, either in the U.S or abroad.
