Dr. Ben Fleury-Steiner, 2016 Jan Burrows Graduate Educator Award Recipient
The Jan Burrows Graduate Educator Award is given in honor of the late Jan Burrows, a doctoral student of our department in the early 1990s. While working on her dissertation and after fighting a long battle with illness, Jan died in the spring of 1994. Jan always took interest in the academic and life pursuits of fellow graduate students. Recipients of the Jan Burrows award 1) demonstrate excellence in classroom teaching, 2) make outstanding contributions to the enrichment of student education, 3) provide guidance for the development of students’ teaching skills, and 4) maintain strong mentoring relationships with students.
