Brian Pitt Keynote Speaker

The conference committee is pleased to announce that Dean John Jackson Jr. from the University of Pennsylvania has accepted our invitation as Brian Pitt Keynote Speaker for the 11th Annual Graduate Student Conference.

History
During the annual graduate student conference, the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice honors the memory of Brian Pitt through the invitation of a distinguished keynote speaker. From the 2012 conference program: “Brian Pitt entered UD’s graduate program in sociology in 2006. He earned his M.A. in 2008; his thesis was “Social Welfare and the Public Opinion of Government Spending: Moving Beyond the Self-Interest–Symbolic Politics Dichotomy.” He continued working toward his doctorate during his illness and it is in his memory we rename the keynote address.”
