Hey everyone,
With the new semester starting, elections for MEGA are right around the corner! This post contains all the information needed for 1) self-nomination to the executive board, and 2) the schedule for elections. All current graduate students are part of MEGA, and such anyone is eligible to nominate themselves for a position!

After the nomination deadline has passed (September 6th) we will make an election post detailing each candidate, you can find the important dates on the timeline below.
- Friday September 6th @ 11:59 pm – The self nomination form will close
- Monday September 9th @ Noon – The digital election form will go live
- Thursday September 12th @ 11:59pm – The digital election form will close
- Friday September 13th – The winning candidates will be announced!
The available positions and general responsibilities of each are:
- President
- Determine the meeting schedule of the executive committee, spearhead large annual events (e.g. cooking for quals, professional development), form sub-committees for events
- Vice-President
- Assist the president, and stand in for them when necessary
- Secretary
- Take photos at events, manage social media, the mailing list, and the website
- Treasurer
- Draft and propose the annual budget, maintaining receipts, other financial administration
- Social Coordinator
- Organize regularly occurring events throughout the year (e.g. monthly coffee breaks)
- Intramural Sports Coordinator
- Organize the intramural sport teams
