Thesis Topic/Title: Molybdenum Carbides as Selective Hydrodeoxygenation (HDO) Catalysts
Thesis Description: I’m working on catalytic hydrodeoxygenation converting furfural to 2-methylfuran. Molybdenum Carbides show better prospect as selective HDO catalysts than that of previous precious metals. I’m now investigating how to choose the proper support to synthesize the catalyst that can lower the costs and get a higher yield of the HDO reaction.
