Thesis Topic/Title: Mechanistic Studies and Reactor Design for Natural Gas Valorization
Thesis Description: The shale gas revolution has increased the availability and decreased the cost of light alkane feed stocks. New methods are needed to convert light alkanes into the intermediates and products required by consumers and chemical industry. Mechanistic studies will enable rational catalyst design to improve process economics and selectivity while chemical looping/selective hydrogen combustion can mitigate thermodynamic limitations.
