Thesis Topic/Title: Highly Active and Cost-effective Catalysts for Methanol Synthesis from CO2
Thesis Description: Methanol is a potential fuel and a starting material in chemical industry. The aim of this work is to synthesize methanol from CO2 through hydrogenation over active and cost-effective catalysts. This work is of interest because this reaction is also considered an effective way for CO2 utilization from the combustion of fossil fuels. Gas chromatography is used to obtain the concentrations and reaction rates. Other methods including XRD, infrared spectroscopy, and mass spectroscopy are applied to gain the understanding of the mechanism.
