Research Topic:  Synthesis high Si/Al zeolites and their application for selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of nitrogen oxide (NOx)

Research Description: Research on porous materials and their application on adsorption, separation, catalytic reactions. In particular interested in high Si/Al ratio small pore 8-ring zeolites synthesis and their application for selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of Nitrogen oxide and CO2 separation from flue gases.

I am currently working on the synthesis high Si/Al 8-ring zeolites and their application for selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of Nitrogen oxide. In this project, several important De-NOx SCR catalysts with high thermal stability and low cost will be designed and synthesized. One example is Chabazite (CHA), Cu-Chabazite (CHA) zeolite has been proved as an effective selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalyst in the NO decomposition of exhaust gas streams. Since the catalyst is often used at high temperatures (>650°C), high thermal durability is required for the catalyst. In order increase the thermal stability of Cu-Chabazite, high Si/Al ratio Cu-Chabazite zeolites (SSZ-13) will be synthesized with low cost SDA. This work is supported by Johnson Matthey Inc.
