About me

I’m an Associate Professor and Associate Chair in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at UD where I’m primarily focused on undergraduate instruction in environmental engineering.  My courses include engineering communication, solid waste management, air pollution control, industrial ecology, and more.

Before joining the environmental engineering faculty at UD, I spent nearly 14 years with the US Environmental Protection Agency’s Mid-Atlantic (Region 3) Office. While with EPA, I served in a number of different positions spanning water programs, sustainability, communications, and government affairs. I find value in infusing my public sector experience into my classes: stakeholder engagement and environmental justice issues are critical issues for civil and environmental engineers and these topics are woven into my courses and my small but eclectic research portfolio. Check out my full CV for more on my education, professional experience, and publications.
