Matthew Hudson, Ph.D, is an assistant professor in the Department of Kinesiology & Applied Physiology. He completed his master’s degree under the mentorship of Dr. John Quindry at Appalachian State University,  his doctoral training under the mentorship of Dr. Scott Powers at the University of Florida, and an NIH postdoctoral fellowship with Dr. Russ Price.  Dr. Hudson’s current research focuses on neurological and neuromuscular disorders including head injury, muscular dystrophy, muscle atrophy, and lysosomal storage disorders.  Specifically on the role of extracellular vesicles in neurological and neuromuscular disorders as well as the utilization of extracellular vesicles as biomarkers and for custom therapeutic drug delivery.
